Wishful thinking

The Golden Tree

We complain about how people stop us,

From doing things, from being us,

Aren’t we supposed to live life the right way,

Even if we don’t reach at someone else’s bay?

I hope for a better summer,

While having the perfect spring in years,

I want to find an escape through you,

To believe that there is no more room for tears.

As kids we are so painfully hopeful,

Of a life that does not naturally happen to us,

That even if we don’t complete the final lap,

What we value more are the thousands of claps.

To save ourself from the heat,

We go into a hiding,

But don’t put on too many layers,

That you can’t save yourself even after singing uncountable prayers.

The valiant rises to the moment and acts,

When people discover, they get drawn to an unknown pact,

Only if I could tell them about your character,

They would choose a mortal over the only creator.

I believe it is not about you and me,

It never has been since the beginning,

The only thing that did not change after everything,

That whatever it was, it could never be nothing.

Until next time, Readers ❤
