Permanent damage
Have you ever let someone see you?
The real you with uncombed hair,
Without the pinkish glow on your cheeks
Or the gullible tone of your words.
The moment they see you,
Your heart feels to burst into a million little pieces,
Yet you wait for it to never end.
The vulnerabilities of loss,
The scars of the past wounds,
The hurting of lost lovers,
The memories of bad break ups
No longer remain only to yourself.
They will be carried to the grave by at least two people,
Isn’t love a one word syllable?
Your secrets are theirs,
Your happiness brings them joy,
They mean the world to you,
Suddenly you discover the star that lights your horizon with a pinkish hue.
Why would you take the risk,
The discomfort of someone else being at your throat at all times,
Why would you make the effort,
To share your stories with someone who may one day turn stranger?
We punish ourselves with made up lies,
With cover ups that are badly written than GOT’s ending,
We turn to cool off the heat to calm the rumbling heart,
That is torn and beaten up with the strangeness of a lover.
Innocent heart gives in to everything soft and sweet,
Unaware of the consequences of a stubborn mind,
You thought they saw you,
But they only saw the reflection of someone so good to be true.
Until next time, Readers ❤
