One thing many forms. Chameleon or love?

Does this remind you of the song Blinding lights or is it only me?

Love can take many forms. For some it is a mutual understanding between two people. For some it is the feeling of something greater and more powerful than all other emotions they experience. For some it is an attachment with their favorite pet animal. Others attribute a meaning to love through devotion to the higher power through idol worshiping. Whatever might be the situation, love can exist in one entity but it always takes more than one in this endless space time to create it.

When a devotee offers his prayer, he looks at the image of something more powerful than the cure of medicine and believes in it. The exchange of emotions is a two way communication between the devotee and the higher power. When the hopeful and sinful man looks at the image of a deity, the deity responds to it by looking back at him at the same time (I read it in a book written by a famous author). We place our faith humbly at the feet of such countless number of deities perhaps because unlike the anatomical construct of mortal human beings, the perfectly sculpted or painted figures of representation of the higher power exceeds our biological capabilities. While looking at the deity, the devotee blinks at short intervals thereby showing a pause in his reverence to the deity. However, the deity looks back at the devotee without any pause for blinking, thereby reinstating the belief of his devotee that he indeed is present for him at all moments. The deity substantiates the beliefs of his devotees by showing them that the capabilities of the higher power exceeds all mortal expectations.

I like when people explain things by giving examples. It makes it more realistic than the usual idealistic standard of give and take equation. Let me give you another analogy of why I believe it takes more than one entity to establish the idea of love and bring it to life in the real world.

The one entity that is present in all living beings but exists outside of them is their soul. Although it is a part of our being, it is considered as a different entity since it does not conform to the definition of what constitutes as a matter. In today’s world, the talk of self love has caught our attention more than ever before and for all the right reasons. With infinite number of things there to distract us or engage us at all times, it becomes a challenge to spend time with ourselves. We often complicate things because we never take the time to process our own feelings. In this case self love rescues us from others as well as from ourselves. But is it possible for love to exist in one person only? Love may reside in one person but it is always created between two entities. The tug of war between the mind and the heart is an omnipresent crisis. When a person decides to love oneself, he wishes to cherish his mortal living structure by aligning his spirits or more commonly known as his soul with the whims of his mind. Here, a two way communication occurs between the body and the soul but love only resides and manifests in one. If I have to compare love with anything mortal, I would choose water as its competition. It can exist in many forms, it is accommodating without giving a hoot about the physical characteristics of an entity and more importantly it is essential for the sustenance of our lives.

I am only an adult who is a little lost in this endless space time. My analogies suit myself better than anyone else because I find them comforting. You are free to delve into the depths of your own imaginations to create a more exciting analogy than mine. Love has no shape and no colour. It does not differentiate between you and me. All it does is that, it connects us to the world in a more meaningful way. Aren’t all things invisible wonderful, Readers? Because only in darkness can there be light.

Until next time, Readers ❤
