Giving it away

How long are you going to hold someone else,

Responsible for the decisions you took for yourself?

It is tiring listening to all the whining and crying darling,

Needless to say, that your heart is ripped apart but,

Miracles happen every day,

Why can’t you just shut up and wait for your good luck to show up?

Making all that choices that’s going to haunt you,

In the form of good memories and adventurous experiences,

You only look at it from one angle,

Why do you have to be such an over aching melancholic?

They told to share what we have with others and,

You blindly followed in their steps and poured out your heart,

Completely onto a stranger from another street,

Now I see you begging for it back.

Sorrows can drown us in our own miseries,

For a loner it becomes even easier to see the deep end of the pit,

You keep most of the things to yourself,

Yet act like there’s nothing that’s holding you to the ground.

Those wings of resilience don’t just rise out of fire,

To be a Sphinx you have to burn in hell and,

Come back to the same place where you got your heart broken,

Isn’t it a miracle to be just alive after all this!

We trade our hearts for love,

People trade their secrets for a meal,

No need to make it a big deal and,

Ruin a lifetime of chances of enjoying those little things.

So you gave away something important,

You feel cheated that something was taken away from you,

Darling how do I explain that you have not lost the battle,

I see you at your lowest and realize only paradise can cure you of you.

Until next time, Readers ☺
