A rainy day

Spot the pink flower

They ask what is so beautiful about you and I wonder if I really have an answer to it.

As I look at the lone koel

Sitting on top of the branch and looking as black as the night,

The mango tree seems to swing in the direction of the wind

But she remains in that stillness yet more beautifully.

The monsoon has come bearing many gifts

The blooming of the half burnt trees, the incessant croaking of the frogs,

But the most special thing it has brought is

How it reminds me of your smile and makes me miss your warmth.

I walk along the path of the garden

In circles, running towards every flower I can set my eyes on,

As I shake a twig or two

I feel the water on my face revive my lost senses.

I cannot remember the number of days I have spent with your memories

It must have been a few years or longer,

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder

But I believe we must not let them decide what’s good for us.

The rains, they bring back something from the past

I remember how I used to write when the clouds grumbled turning the sky black,

So many tiny birds perched upon the electric lines, each singing to their own tunes

I remember how it reminds me of the people who felt like home.

They ask what is so beautiful about you and I wonder if I really have an answer to it,

I do not know how special someone is when their thought alone makes everything around come to life.

Until next time, Readers ❤
